Powerful conversation on the witnessing paradox. The point about vicarious trauma not being apathy is critical, especially when we're told constant exposure equals moral engagement. Sam's 3-2-1 backup rule is underratted for evidence preservation. I've seen situations where original footage gets lost bc people assume cloud backup is enough. The part about letting footage speak rather than narrating on camera is tactical gold, especailly in ICE contexts where anything said becomes admissible.

I've been reflecting on something: the warning isn't "don't use technology" but rather "don't let technology use you."

Be involved. Be aware. Be responsible. Be thoughtful. Be just. Be respectful.

It feels like our world is actively making thinking seem unnecessary, uncomfortable, unwanted, even antisocial. Against that backdrop, I've found real hope in your podcasts. You make room for thinking, for pushing back, for holding onto what's true.
