Good, interesting talk! I so, so favor focusing on the "messy middle ground" rather than split into opposing camps and lobbing shells at each other - on AI and most other things. Life isn't binary, why should AI be? It's like any other tool, it can also be a weapon, depending on how we use it. One small example: I just vibe coded with a vastly improved tool (aren't they all?) Base 44 a little local news website, to keep my hand in it and my skills sharp, now that I am semi-retired to be caregiver for my ill wife. It was so darn easy. One doesn't have to cure cancer - wouldn't that be nice! - but do more with our lives, if we focus on the capabilities and promise, not the inevitable tradeoffs and limitations!
