I’m a parent of two young children and am terrified about the future as we introduce/filter different tech to our family. This was a great read/watch before bed to quell one of my what feels like thousands of anxieties.

Just to be the devil's advocate: as the need for mental health care is exploding, finding qualified, available and affordable mental health care is moving in the opposite direction. Many, if not most, qualified MH providers do not take insurance. The ones who do are typically new to the field (under supervision) who lack the expertise to deal with complex issues. And even if they have been practicing for 15 or 20 years, there's no guarantee that a client's time and financial commitment will result in a healthier mindset. At least with AI, you can explain a scenario and have a dialogue of sorts and get all kinds of advice. All on one's own schedule, at no cost. As someone who has survived a brother's suicide and another brother's attempted suicide and lifetime of alcoholism, and a lifetime of paternal serious mental illness, individuals who refuse help or cannot acknowledge their need for it, will self-destruct - with or without AI.
