I feel like AI will make people work harder, take away autonomy, allow fewer people to work in meaningful jobs that let them make a real living, make us more dependent, make us stupider, while taking our electricity and depleting our water resources in a world where water scarcity is growing.
I guess this makes me a bit of a pessimist 😕.
I want to keep my brain working as well as it can, for as long as I can. I'm very lucky, I am not forced to use AI yet, except in some annoying chat bots for products or services, or hidden applications. I think people should resist data centers, which might degrade environment and resources.
Can someone please ask their AI programmer to code a virus that will shut down AI systems? Please?
Unlimited growth (aka the goal of unregulated capitalism) in living beings is: CANCER. Humans are not built for growth as meaningless-more. We should plan and choose with that unchangeable truth as a guidepost.
Social Media has already done it to us: healthy societies degrade under the pace of a firehose. AI will not go any better unless the commons (not private corps) have more direct control of its directions and purposes.
